Back Of My Mind

[Verse 1]

You walk in

Same bar

New jacket

Green eyes

Acting like it’s nothing

You say hi

Like we’re just a habit

I laugh once

But my heart is running

[Pre-Chorus]

Why do you always hit when I’m almost fine

Spin me like records I said were retired

Tell me you missed me

Then check the time

You’re lighting the fuse then asking for fire

[Chorus]

You’re stuck in the back of my mind

Front of the line every time

I try to forget

You rewind

(oh-oh) you rewind

You’re burned in the back of my mind

Same old rush

Brand new lie

Dance on my thoughts all night

You’re stuck in the back of my mind

[Pre-Chorus]

How do you always drag me across that line

Laugh while I’m losing the rules I write

You pull me close just to blur the signs

You’re calling it casual

Painting it bright

[Chorus]

You’re stuck in the back of my mind

Front of the line every time

I try to forget

You rewind

(yeah-yeah) you rewind

You’re burned in the back of my mind

Same old rush

Brand new lie

Dance on my thoughts all night

You’re stuck in the back of my mind

[Bridge]

Hands up

Then we crash in the dark

Same song

But you’re changing my part

Say “we’re a mess”

As you trace my spine

You exit the door

But you stay inside

[Chorus]

You’re stuck in the back of my mind

Front of the line every time

I try to forget

You rewind

(oh-oh) you rewind

You’re burned in the back of my mind

Same old rush

Brand new lie

Spin in my head all night

You’re stuck in the back of my mind
