Backseat on a Backroad

[Verse 1]

You threw your boots in my backseat

Laughin’

Said “just drive”

Dust on the dash and a half-warm drink

Your hand on mine

Old red road on a late July

Windows down

You’re singin’ off-time

Didn’t know then but it hit me like

“Girl

This might be my life”

[Pre-Chorus]

Every mile

A little more sure

Every curve

I’m fallin’ further

[Chorus]

Backseat on a backroad

You

Got me goin’ where I never knew

Every “keep on drivin’” that you say

Makes me wanna stay

Stay

Stay

Heart beat runnin’ like the route we chose

You’re my wild

My anywhere I go

If I got you and a tank half full

Backseat on a backroad

I’m cool (yeah)

Backseat on a backroad

I’m cool

[Verse 2]

We hit that county line sunset

Turned that old farm lane

You kicked your feet out the window

Dancin’ in the rain

Radio quiet

But we still loud

Kissin’ like we’re lost and found

Two lane world and it’s you right now

Don’t wanna turn around

[Pre-Chorus]

Every mile

A little more sure

Every curve

I’m fallin’ further

[Chorus]

Backseat on a backroad

You

Got me goin’ where I never knew

Every “keep on drivin’” that you say

Makes me wanna stay

Stay

Stay

Heart beat runnin’ like the route we chose

You’re my wild

My anywhere I go

If I got you and a tank half full

Backseat on a backroad

I’m cool (oh yeah)

Backseat on a backroad

I’m cool

[Bridge]

Tell me where you wanna get lost

I’ll kill the lights

Let the stars talk

If this is all we ever got

Baby

That’s enough

[Chorus]

Backseat on a backroad

You

Got me goin’ where I never knew

Every “keep on drivin’” that you say

Makes me wanna stay

Stay

Stay

Heart beat runnin’ like the route we chose

You’re my wild

My anywhere I go

If I got you and a tank half full

Backseat on a backroad

I’m cool

Backseat on a backroad

I’m cool

[Outro]

Backseat on a backroad

You (you, you)

Backseat on a backroad

You (oh, you)

Backseat on a backroad

I’m cool

Backseat on a backroad

I’m cool
