Candy Corn in My Backpack

Sneak a little candy corn into my lunchbox light

Golden orange hiding like a secret in the back

Sticky covered notebooks, pockets on the pay

Every little doodle turns the hallway into a stage

When the clock keeps ticking and the teacher turns away

We pass a tiny smile to make the colors stay

It's a sweet secret, tucked inside the day

Candy corn and sunshine making all the gray fade away

Decorate the pages, let the glitter show

Now the whole school feels like a sugar spun glow

It's a sweet secret, close and small and true

Every little moment tastes like Halloween in June

Tap-tap clapping softly in the in-between

Jackets on the backs of chairs, a candy-colored scene

Writing tiny notes in the margins of my mind

Mulking ordinary minutes, feel delightfully unkind

Too boring and about

Ghost ring ring

We don't let the magic go

We keep it in our pockets

Where the bright ideas grow

It's a sweet secret

Tucked inside the day

Candy corn and sunshine

Making all the gray fade away

Decorate the pages

Let the glitter show

Now the whole school feels

Like a sugar spun glow

It's a sweet secret

Close and small and true

Every little moment tastes like Halloween in June

Obj wheels sparkle hard on replay

Your paper drill pumpkin's leading me away

From the ordinary to the candy-colored play

We can make a Tuesday feel a little bit late night

It's a sweet secret tucked inside the day

Candy corn and sunshine making all the gray fade away

Decorate the pages, let the glitter show

Let the holes go, feels like the sugar's on glow

It's a sweet secret, and I know it's right

Sweet little classroom magic shining all through the night
