Change Is Coming

[Intro] [Pastor] Family, take a breath The road is changing under our feet But mercy has already gone ahead [Verse 1] I saw the old door close behind me Heard the hinges tell the truth Packed my fear beside my Sunday shoes And carried only what was useful The rent was late, the news was heavy Mama said, “Stand up straight” There was a seed beneath the sorrow Waiting on a little faith [Pre-Chorus] If the ground begins to tremble Let your heart remember this Every ending holds a doorway Every wound can learn to lift [Chorus] Change is coming, make room in your soul Change is coming, let the new day unfold Though the night may press against us We are not alone Change is coming, and we’re ready to go [Verse 2] I watched my brother take the evening shift Still singing on the train I watched my sister turn a kitchen table Into a place where dreams could be named We have buried too much silence We have watered too much doubt Now the truth is at the window And it’s calling everybody out [Pre-Chorus] If the ground begins to tremble Let your heart remember this Every ending holds a doorway Every wound can learn to lift [Chorus] Change is coming, make room in your soul Change is coming, let the new day unfold Though the night may press against us We are not alone Change is coming, and we’re ready to go [Bridge] [Pastor] When I say “change,” you say “coming” [Choir] Change! [Pastor] When I say “faith,” you say “rising” [Choir] Faith! [Pastor] When I say “we,” you say “together” [Choir] We’re together! [Pastor] Then lift your voice like you know the morning belongs to you [Choir] We have strength in our hands We have truth in our chest We have love for the weary We will give them our best [Choir] Oh, the door is opening wide Oh, we’re stepping inside No more waiting at the border No more shrinking from the light [Final Chorus] Change is coming, make room in your soul Change is coming, let the new day unfold Though the night may press against us We are not alone Change is coming, and we’re ready to go [Outro] [Pastor] Walk in courage Walk in kindness Walk like the promise has your name [Choir] Change is coming Change is coming We are ready We are ready [Pastor] Amen.
