Chasing Dawn

Electric eyes and a purple haze

Lost inside this midnight maze

The high beams flicker on the blacktop floor

I'm kicking down the velvet door

I've got a heavy weight inside my chest

But I'm not stopping for a rest

The asphalt hums a lonely tune

Underneath the paper moon

Chasing the dawn

Chasing the dawn

I'm moving fast until the dark is gone

Chasing the dawn

Chase the dawn

I'm keeping all my glitter on the run

I carry every mark, I carry every scar

Driving toward a different star

Chasing the dawn

Chasing the dawn

The radio is playing songs of old

I′m trading my heart of gold

For one more mile and a gallon of grace

Until I find a brighter place

The rain is washing out the lines

Ignoring all the warning signs

I'm burning through the heavy clouds

Rising up above the crowds

Chasing the dawn

Chasing the dawn

I'm moving fast until the dark is gone

Chasing the dawn

Chase the dawn

I'm keeping all my glitter on the run

I carry every mark, I carry every scar

I'm driving toward a different star

Chasing the dawn

Chasing the dawn

The engine screams a wild goodbye

To every low and every light

I see the light, it's breaking thin

This is where the new begins

Chasing the dawn

Chasing the dawn

I'm moving fast until the dark is gone

Chasing the dawn

Chasing the dawn

I'm keeping all my glitter on

I carry every mark, I carry every scar

I'm driving toward a different star

Chasing the dawn

Chasing the dawn
