Cherry Red After Rain

I wore the rain like a second skin

Watch the blue sky disappear within

Every promise turned to broken glass

Still I kept breathing to the aftermath

Hands on my heart, I learned to stay

When the shadows wouldn't fade away

I survived the storm, I learned to bend

Sound the light where the night would end

From the wreckage I began to rise

Joy came back in the shape of sunrise

And every scar that I couldn't hide

Turned into a place where hope couldn't enside

The silence in the rooms was loud

But I found my voice beneath the cloud

Little by little, I came undone

And stitched my soul to the morning sun

Now the wind feels softer on my skin

Like the world is letting me begin
