Hurricane Child

From the first breath you took in the morning light

Under my whole world changed that night

Tiny hands, big dreams, and a fearless spark

You were a prayer I held inside my heart

My hurricane child

You came in strong

Turned every tear into a love song

Through the storms I watched You rise

With my faith in Your fire in Your eyes

My hurricane child

You′re my pride

Every step of your life

I was by your side

Through the long nights

Through the wounds and the rain

I learned your joy

And I carried your pain

Have you scraped me

Every lesson learned, every quiet prayer for the world to turn

You grew up brave with a compassionate soul

Still carrying light where the shadows roll

My hurricane child, you came in strong

Turned every tear into a love song

Through the storms I watched you rise

When my faith and your fire in your eyes

My hurricane child

You're my pride

Every step of your life

I was by your side

I look at the man you've become today

Kind and steady in your own way

I see my strength, I see my grace

In the calm and the storm on your face

My hurricane shout, it came, it's true

Turned every tear into a love song

From your first cry to the man you are now

I thank God for you

And I still don't know how

My hurricane child

You're my light

Forever my love

Forever my fight
