Let’s Be About It

I came up from the low top

Dust on my shoes

Had a pocket full of mavens

A heart full of blues

Every closed door taught me how to not look in

Every scar on my back turned into strength in the wind

I remember where I was

I remember the rain

Now I′m standing in the sunlight

Still carrying the pain

And I hear the noise around me

But I don't need to doubt

If they want a real answer

He's the only one I'm about

Let's not talk about it

Let's be about it

I'm movin' fire

There's no way to doubt

From where I was to where I am

I earned every mile

Lookin' and I'm still here

Still ridin' in style

Let's not talk about it, let's be about it

Turn the volume up, yeah

Let the groove announce it

They can question my name

That can't stop my light

I'm a spit from the struggle

And I'm shining tonight

Had to learn how to breathe

When the pressure came down

Had to find my own rhythm

When I was facing the ground

Now I walk with a purpose

Every step got a beat

Every loss turned a lesson

Every wound turned to heat

I don't carry the weight of the ones who said no

Just dance for my destiny, let my spirit show

Let's not talk about it

Let's be loud

I'm moving with the fire

There's no way to doubt it

From where I was to where I am

I earned every mile

Looking down to here

Still rising in style

Let's not talk about it

Turn the volume up, yeah, let the groove announce

They can question my name, but they can't stop my light

I was built from a struggle, and I'm shining tonight

Just a bass in the drums, let the truth hit hard

Not a little edge in the groove, but it goes far

Broads in the back like a prayer in the dark

I'm not saying too much, I'm leaving my mark

Let's not talk about it, let's be about it

I'm proof in motion, every step around me

From where I was to where I am, I turned penning into pride

Now I'm here in the rhythm, and I'm taking the ride

Let's not talk about it

Let's be about it

Hands in the air, let the whole room feel it

Think I got all they want, but I'm standing upright

Redemption in my heartbeat, and I'm burning bright
