Lift My Name (Higher)

[Intro]

Started in the shadow

Talking to the ceiling

Wonder if You hear me

You were in the silence

You were in my breathing

Pulling me up slowly

[Verse 1]

I was carrying a heart like stone

All my wins still felt like losing

Scrolling through a world so loud

But my soul stayed muted

Then Your love hit different

Cut through all my distance

Told me

“Child

You’re chosen”

And my chest flew open

[Chorus]

So I lift my name (higher)

When I lift Your name (higher)

All my shame turns lighter

Every chain burns brighter

You took my story

Turned it into fire

When I lift Your name

You lift my name higher

(yeah, yeah)

You lift my name higher

[Verse 2]

Now I’m dancing in the kitchen light

Tears and laughter on my T-shirt

Family gathered round the table

Every broken piece feels safer

From the village to the city

Every tribe

Every tongue singing

Same hope

Same Hallelujah

Love is making us one choir

[Chorus]

So I lift my name (higher)

When I lift Your name (higher)

All my shame turns lighter

Every chain burns brighter

You took my story

Turned it into fire

When I lift Your name

You lift my name higher

You lift my name higher

[Bridge]

From Lagos to London

São Paulo to Seoul

Every hand up

Every heart home

From valleys of sorrow

To mountains of gold

You’re the song that every soul knows

[Choir]

You say “worthy”

We say “Amen”

You say “start again”

We start again

[Chorus]

So I lift my name (higher)

When I lift Your name (higher)

All my shame turns lighter

Every chain burns brighter

You took my story

Turned it into fire

When I lift Your name

You lift my name higher

(oh-oh, higher)

You lift my name higher

[Outro]

Higher

Higher

Lifted by Your mercy

Higher

Higher

You keep lifting me
