Marigold Moon Parade

I follow marigold petals

Down the old stone street

Gold sparks under my feet

Hear the callers and the heat

Candles on the windows

Names alive in the air

Every step I take sounds like love

Every breath becomes a prayer

Dance, dance, dance

With memory

Turn the green to colour

Turn the dark to melody

Dance, dance, dance

With memory

We are more than what we miss

We are rhythm, we are free

The brass splits through the evening

Like a ribbon made of light

A cordon laughing open

To the tender shape of night

I carry every story

Like a flower in my hand

And I let the sorrow bloom where my heartbeat understands

Dance, dance, dance with memory

Turn the grief to color, turn the dark to melody

Dance, dance, dance, with memory

We are more than what we miss, we are rhythm, we are free

Come walk to me, the ones I love

What do we bring? Marigolds above

What do we leave? Tears in the ground

What do we make? A sacred sound

The night feels heavy, let it move through my chest

I will spin it into orange, I will dress it with my best

Every memory a doorway, every loss a peanut line

And I cross it with the living to the beat of the divine

Dance, dance, dance with memory

Turn the grief to colour, turn the dark to melody

Dance, dance, dance, with memory

Marigold pales in the street

And your love is leading me
