Midnight Every Weekend

[Intro]

We don’t talk in daylight

Only when the room turns blue

You pull me to the red line

Like you always do

[Verse 1]

You say my name like a secret

Just for us

Just this room

Fingerprints on my t-shirt

We both know how this ends soon

[Pre-Chorus]

Are we just a bad habit

Or is this the start of something

Every time I say I’m over it

You’re calling

I’m running

[Chorus]

Midnight

Every weekend

We fall

Then we fake it’s the last time (last time)

Hands high

Then we sink in

Swear we’re only friends as our mouths lie

Keep saying “never again”

Till it’s

Midnight

Every weekend

Midnight

Every weekend

[Verse 2]

You leave your ring in the ashtray

Say you “need to feel young”

Laugh it off

But your eyes shake

Like the words cut your tongue

[Pre-Chorus]

Are we just a bad habit

Or is this the start of something

Every time you swear you’re over me

You’re knocking

I’m buzzing

[Chorus]

Midnight

Every weekend

We fall

Then we fake it’s the last time (oh yeah)

Hands high

Then we sink in

Swear we’re only friends as our mouths lie

Keep saying “never again”

(Every weekend)

Midnight

Every weekend
