Midnight Festival Run

[Verse 1]

We checked in late

Backstage wristbands, plastic crate

Charts in the case

Coffee stains all over the page

Sound guy shouting

“Two minutes out,” heart’s pounding

You laugh, say “breathe”

I just count off in my teeth

[Chorus]

Run it up, run it up, one more song

We’ve been waiting all year for this crowd to sing along

Every solo like a dare, like a jump off the roof

Midnight festival run, make the sky hear the proof

Run it up, run it up, feel that roar

If they call for one more, we give ‘em three, maybe four

Kids up front

Filming every flare and stunt

Old heads nodding

They know every turn we’re plotting

You bend that note

And I feel it in my throat

[Bridge]

Break it down, half-time hush (oh yeah)

Just a snap and a low-end rush

You take two bars, then I take four

Then we kick that door

[Chorus]

Run it up, run it up, one more song

We’ve been waiting all year for this crowd to sing along

Every solo like a dare, like a jump off the roof

Midnight festival run, make the sky hear the proof

Run it up, run it up, feel that roar

If they call for one more, we stay ‘til quarter to four
