Midnight Lantern Walk

I felt the cold wind at my back

A thousand eyes of velvet black

But I kept walking steady slow

With a fire only I could know

Every shadow tried to follow me

Every whisper said, don't believe

But I heard a brighter call

Rising through the haunted hall

I step out from the shadows now

No fear left in my heart somehow

With calm confidence, I take my place

And the night lights up my face

Misery in the air, cheers in the crowd

I rise above it, care and drought

From the dark, I claim my name

Out I walk on in the flame

Mule my painting silver lines

On the edges of the sky

Bones of old songs in the breeze

Dancing through the autumn trees

I let the strange lights gather round

Like a crown made of haunted sound

And every step I take tonight

Turns a fear into a spark of life

I step off round

The shadows now

No fear left in my heart somehow

With calm confidence, I take my place

And the night lights up my face

I rise above it, clear and proud
