On My Way Up

[Intro]

[soft pads swelling

Distant crowd chants fading in]

I came from a place

They never thought we'd touch the sky

Now mama on the phone

Say

"Baby

Look how high"

[Verse 1]

Long nights

Same shirt

Dreams bigger than the rent due

Now we pull up

Clean shirt

Same friends in the same crew

Brown skin

Gold tooth

Laugh loud when the rain came

Turn pain into proof

Now the whole world know my name

[Pre-Chorus]

From the backseat straight to the front row

Used to pray quiet

Now we talk bold

Every setback turned to my ammo

Tell my people

"This the moment

Let your hands go"

[Chorus]

I’m on my way up

Way up

Way up (hey!)

Tell ’em we stay up

Stay up

Stay up

Came from the mud now we blaze up

Blaze up

If you feel the love

Put your face up

Face up

We on our way up

Way up

Way up

Whole gang stay up

Stay up

Stay up

Sing it from the block to the mainstage

Same us

Anywhere we go

They gon’ say us

Say us

[Verse 2]

Passport

Stamped up

But I still bring the hood out

Aunties in the back row

Streaming every time the hook loud (hook loud)

Little kids dance hard

Bare feet on the red sand

They post it on their phones

Now they singing with their chest

Man

[Pre-Chorus]

From the backseat straight to the front row

Used to pray quiet

Now we talk bold

Every setback turned to my ammo

Tell my people

"This the moment

Let your hands go"

[Chorus]

I’m on my way up

Way up

Way up (yeah)

Tell ’em we stay up

Stay up

Stay up

Came from the mud now we blaze up

Blaze up

If you feel the love

Put your face up

Face up

We on our way up

Way up

Way up

Whole gang stay up

Stay up

Stay up

Sing it from the block to the mainstage

Same us

Anywhere we go

They gon’ say us

Say us

[Outro]

[beat rides

Crowd-style chants]

Way up

Way up

Say we way up

Way up (oh-oh)

Same us

Same love

Anywhere we go

They gon’ say us

Say us
