Polaroid Mornings

[Intro]

[soft crackle

Faded home-movie vibe]

[Verse 1]

Coffee in a chipped blue cup

Sun sneaks through the blinds

Your sweater on my kitchen chair

From some other time

Old film on the TV hums

Colors washed and kind

We pause it on your crooked smile

Try to stay inside

[Chorus]

Polaroid mornings

Fading

But they’re glowing in my mind

We keep rewinding

Back to when your hand was holding mine

Little scratches on the frame

But I still see you the same

Polaroid mornings

Stuck in yesterday’s daylight

[Verse 2]

Tickets in a shoebox lid

Names I barely know

You trace circles on my wrist

“Wish we didn’t grow”

Street maps with the corners torn

Folded in your bag

Every wrong turn that we took

Feels like what we had

[Chorus]

Polaroid mornings

Fading

But they’re glowing in my mind

We keep rewinding

Back to when your hand was holding mine

Little scratches on the frame

But I still see you the same

Polaroid mornings

Stuck in yesterday’s daylight

[Bridge]

You say

“We can’t live back there”

But you still wear that same old pair

Of headphones from our first July

Leaking all that younger sky

If every day is something new

Why does it all lead back to you?

If every day is something new

Why does it all lead back to you?

[Chorus]

Polaroid mornings

Fading

But they’re glowing in my mind

We keep rewinding

Back to when your hand was holding mine

Little scratches on the frame

But I still see you the same

Polaroid mornings

Stay a little overexposed tonight
