Pumpkin Lantern Waltz

We carve the pumpkins by the porch light glow

Smiling jack-o'-lanterns in a tidy row

The maple leaves are spinning in the chilly air

And every little shadow feels a little less scary

Dance, dance through the friendly autumn night

Lanterns flicker gold and everything feels right

Spin skin under moonlit apple trees

Laughing with the owls and the whispering breeze

I hear the toy glockenspiel ring out so clear

Like tiny stars are tiptoeing right here

The piano twinkles in a crooked little tune

While brush drums shuffle softly under the moon

Dance, dance through the friendly autumn night

Lanterns flicker gold and everything feels right

Spin, spin where the candle wind'll shine

Holding all the warmth of this Halloween time

No haunted house can steal the glow we made

With every step, the shadows start to fade

Hand in hand, we wander past a guarded gate

Turning fright to delight before it gets too late

Dance, dance through the friendly autumn night

Carved up smiles and the stars are bright

Spin, spin till the cool wind says goodbye

Drifting through the autumn under a painted sky
