Pumpkin Lights and Midnight Treats

The porch lights blink, the moon hangs high

We lace our shoes and chase the sky

Check a lantern's grin along the street

With every step, the beat feels sweet

Bats in the air and laughter in the glow

We knock on doors and watch the sparks grow

It's a candy run after dark, hearts all lit

Eyes on spark, we shout hooray down every block

With sticky smuds and Tonkin sap

Candy cane, our hands join our song

Friends beside us all night long

We're bright as pumpkins in the blue

Trick or treat, dreams come in true

A paper ghost on the neighbor's fence

A witch in sneakers makes us dance

Orange windows, silvery trees

Sweet little chills on the autumn breeze

We trade our treats and share the best

Laughing hard, we never rest

It's a candy run after dark

Hearts all lit, eyes on spark

We shot hooray down every block

With sticky smiles and talking stock

Candy in our hands, join our song

Friends beside us all night long

We're bright as pumpkins in the blue

Trick or treat, dreams coming true

When the night gets soft and slow

We save one bite before we go

Side by side we head back home

With glowing cheeks and sugar chrome

It's a candy rent after dark

Hearts all lit and eyes on spark

We shout hooray down every block

With sticky smiles and talking stock

Candy in our hands, joy in our song

Friends beside us all night long

We're bright as pumpkins in the blue

Trick or treat, dreams come in true
