Punjab in My Heart, Canada in My Life

I left the lanes of Punjab behind;

With a suitcase full of greens and a restless mind;

My mother's blessings were my light in the dark;

I crossed the ocean chasing hope and a brand new start;

So far greeted me with a silent face;

But I carried my roots to this far off place;

Early mornings I step into the chill;

Hands to the grind I keep pushing still;
