Shaking Through the Noise

I walk these halls like a shadow in the light;

Every step feels heavy burning through the night;

Words get stuck where the fear lives deep inside;

I keep my head down,

I keep it all confined;

When the noise gets loud, my heart starts to race;

I'm trying to breathe, trying to find my place;

The world feels sharp, but I'm still here;

Through the static and the trembling fear,

I shake;

And the music hits too hard;

Too bright, too loud, it tears me apart;

I cover my ears and

I fight through the pain;

But I'm holding the beer,

I'm holding the strain;

I got scars in my soul, but

I'm standing my ground;

Even when the world keeps standing me down;

I don't talk much, but my silence says enough;

Every day feels rough, every little thing tough;

Sensory storms and a broken buzzing sky;

And I wonder if somebody sees me when

I cry;
