Shimmer In The Dark

[Verse 1]

Phone lit up

same name on the screen

You say, “I miss how it was”

then you leave it on seen

Half-packed box

on the side of my bed

Your hoodie on the chair

still smelling like regret

[Chorus]

You’re my shimmer in the dark

Here then gone, just a spark

Every time I reach, you fade away

Still I call you when it’s late

You’re my shimmer in the dark

Painting ghosts on my heart

I keep chasing what I can’t retrace

I talk big

acting like I’m okay

But your name in my throat

every word that I say

[Chorus]

You’re my shimmer in the dark

Here then gone, just a spark

Every time I reach, you fade away

Here then gone, just a spark

Every time I reach, you fade away

Still I call you when it’s late

You’re my shimmer in the dark

Painting ghosts on my heart

I keep chasing what I can’t retrace

All your love just out of place
