Soft Current

Every night I drift back to your light

Even when the city fades out of sight

Put your name in the air like a prayer on my tongue

And the silence speaks loud when the day is done

I'm caught in a salt current

Pulled back to you

No matter how far I go

Them stairs moving through

You shadow your memory

Your deep blue flame

I keep trying to leave

But I call your name

Waves on the window, moon on my skin

I thought I was free, but it's you pulling me in

Every small heartbeat keeps tracing the past

Like a love that was fragile, but somehow it lasts

I'm caught in this love gun

Pulled back to you

No matter how far I go

I'm still moving through

Shed up your memory

Your deep blue flame

I keep trying to leave

But I call your name

If I let go, will I finally breathe?

Or is this the one thing I'll never release?

Still I stand in the tide where we used to be

And the water remembers what you meant to me

I'm caught in a soft current

Pull back to you

No matter how far I go

I'm still moving through

Your shadow, your memory

Your deep blue flame

I keep trying to leave

But I call your name
