Starlight Countdown

[Verse 1]

Late train home at 1 a.m

Phone light on your sleepy face

We laugh loud

Then hold our breath

Like this ride could be our runway

Neon names in all my apps

You type once

Then hesitate

My heart jumps with every buzz

Like it's learning how to levitate

[Pre-Chorus]

Are we just friends in the daylight?

Are we pretending we don't care?

Every goodbye feels like twilight

I keep replaying you standing there

[Chorus]

Starlight countdown

Three

Two

One

When you touch my hand I come undone

All these little sparks fall into one sun

(oh-oh, oh-oh)

Starlight countdown

Here we go

You and I about to overflow

If we take this leap

Will you let me know?

(hey!)

Starlight countdown

Starlight

Don't slow down

[Verse 2]

Dance floor in my living room

Headphones on

You're in my head

You said

"Someday

Let's get lost"

Now it's all I ever wanna do instead

Your joke stuck in my voicemail

I press play just to feel you near

Every word a tiny dare

Pulling me across this line of fear

[Pre-Chorus]

Are we just lines on a screen now?

Or are we closer than we say?

Every almost feels like right now

Like you're one deep breath away

[Chorus]

Starlight countdown

Three

Two

One

When you touch my hand I come undone

All these little sparks fall into one sun

(oh-oh, oh-oh)

Starlight countdown

Here we go

You and I about to overflow

If we take this leap

Will you let me know?

(hey!)

Starlight countdown

Starlight

Don't slow down

[Bridge]

Say my name on the downbeat

Pull me in when the world fades

If this is wrong

Then let it be

The best mistake we ever made

[Chorus]

Starlight countdown

Three

Two

One

Every part of me is on the run

Racing to your arms till the night is done

(oh-oh, oh-oh)

Starlight countdown

Here we go

Turn it up and let the feeling grow

If we take this leap

Promise don't let go

(hey!)

Starlight countdown

Starlight

Don't slow down
