Stay For The Weekend

[Verse 1]

Stamp on your wrist

Same color as mine

You laughed

Said

“This place kinda sucks”

But you stayed

And you stayed

And you stayed—just our luck

[Pre-Chorus]

We could call it early

Blame the crowd

Or we could let this get too loud

You’re looking at me like a dare

Like “are you ever getting out of here?”

[Chorus]

Stay for the weekend

Tell your friends you’re gone

But don’t say where

We don’t need a reason

Just your jacket on my kitchen chair

Spin in the living room

Shoes kicked off and your hair all ruined

Say that you mean it

If you stay for the weekend

Weekend

[Verse 2]

Half-warm fries in a paper bag

Backseat jokes

Camera roll full of trash

You say my playlist feels like home

I say

“That’s wild

I just made it on my phone”

[Pre-Chorus]

We could kill the vibe

Call the ride

Or miss our stop

Change our minds

You’re looking at me like

“So?

Are you gonna let this moment go?”

[Chorus]

Stay for the weekend

Tell your friends you’re gone

But don’t say where

We don’t need a reason

Just your jacket on my kitchen chair

Spin in the living room

Shoes kicked off and your hair all ruined

Say that you mean it

If you stay for the weekend

Weekend

[Bridge]

You say

“I don’t do this”

I say

“Me either” (yeah, sure)

Two bad liars in the kitchen

Trading stories on the floor

If this is just a phase

Let it last a little more

[Chorus]

Stay for the weekend

Tell your friends you’re gone

But don’t say where

We don’t need a reason

Just your jacket on my kitchen chair

Spin in the living room

Shoes kicked off and your hair all ruined

Say that you mean it

If you stay for the weekend

Weekend

[Outro]

(Weekend, weekend)

Stay for the weekend

(Weekend, weekend)

Say that you mean it
