Stop the Hating

Why be fake? Why pretend to like Hannah?

Only to be jealous when she walks in the room

She got up, she could shine, she could save the moment

But hate in your heart only feeds the gloom

She is prettier, but that's not the reason

To throw shade when you're feeling small

Look in the mirror, tell the truth, you're hiding

Jealousy won't build you up at all

Stop the hating, stop the fronting

If you need help, say it straight

Stop the hating, stop the judging

Let our love all twist it into hate

Why be fake, represent, grow friends

When all you do is resist it?

Stop the hating, stop the hating

Be real for once if you really can

Hannah didn't come to take your spotlight

She came with kindness in her hands

But you kept turning every compliment bitter

Letting your envy make demands

Now the room is colder, trust is broken

Words cut deeper than you know

If you want peace, then got the act

Now let the better version show

Stop the hating, stop the fronting

If you need help, say it straight

Stop the hating, stop the judging

Let our love, don't twist it into hate

Why be fake? Why pretend you're friends

When all you do is resent instead?

Stop the hating

Stop the hatin', be real for once if you really care
