Sunlit Ease

Morning light leaks through the blinds

Coffee steaming and drifting mind

Your shadow moves across the room

And I'm still caught in your afterglow

I don't rush, I don't push

Not the feeling, breathing slow

If you come close, if you stay

We can let the quiet glow

Easy, easy, they wash over me

Like the tide on a South Pacific breeze

Easy, easy, I'm soft when you're near

Warm in the eight, I disappear

Easy, easy, don't make me pretend

I could live in this moment again

Bare feet tracing the hard green

Little storms in a summer rain

You say my name

Like it's enough

To turn the whole room tender and slow

No need for loud, no need for show

Just a hand and a steady flame

If love is a place that we can rest

Then I'm learning it your way

Easy, easy, let it wash over me

Like the tide on a South Pacific breeze

Easy, easy, I'm soft when you're near

A worm in the egg, I'll disappear

Easy, easy, don't make me pretend

I could live in this moment again

If the night leans in, I won't run

I'll stay where you're quiet and mine become one

And if tomorrow wears too much of our hearts

We'll keep this moonlight burning in the dark

Easy, easy, let it wash over me

Like the tide on a South Pacific breeze

Easy, easy, I'm soft when you're near

Warm in the ache

I disappear

Easy, easy, breathe me back again

I could live in this moment again
