The Spellbook Under My Keybed

Beneath the piano where the dust keeps time

I found a leather cover in the candlelight

Its pages breathe like winter through the velvet air

A sleeping word, a warning, and a secret prayer

Turn the key

Let the shadows sing

Wake the room

With a hidden thing

Under the keys

Where the old skulls bloom

A world of candlelit secrets stirs

I traced the ink with a trembling hand

And the notes in the dark began to understand

The felt was soft but the thunder rose

From the heart of the book where the moonlight glows

Turn the key

With the shadow′s ink

Wake the room

With a hidden thing

After the keys, where the old spells bloom

A world of candlelit secrets stirs in the room

Hush now, the vellum is worn with dreams

Threading the air in silver seams

If I rattle out

Will the silence part?

Will the ancient night lure my heart?

Turn the key

Let the shadows sing

Weak the room

With a hidden thing

Under the keys

Where the old spells bloom

A world of candlelit secrets stirs in the room

And I follow the flame

Where the lost words lie

With a spellbook open and the stars close glide
