Third Rail Ghost

[Intro]

Last train gone

But the doors still breathe

Cold draft on my neck

Like it followed me

[Verse 1]

Fluorescent buzz in the carriage

Empty seats still holding heat

Someone left one glove on the window

Face in the glass staring back at me

Tap card

Gate never answers

Red light flick

Then it freezes green

I walk through

Turn back

Hear footsteps

Only my shadow stuck on the screen

Platform sign keeps glitching my station

Name half-missing like it slipped away

Rat on the tracks just watching

Eyes too bright for the end of the day (mm)

[Chorus]

I’m a ghost on the underground

Drift past crowds

Don’t make a sound

You don’t see me when I pass by

Only feel that shiver on your spine

Cold air creeps when I come round

Rattling teeth

That hollowed-out sound

I’m a ghost on the underground

I’m a ghost on the underground (yeah)

CCTV got my features smearing

Frame by frame

I’m phasing thin

Swipe at the fog on the window

Handprint there

But it ain’t my skin (nah)

Girl on the bench looks straight through me

Still flinches when I sit down

Earbuds in but she jerks on the drop

Like she caught my voice in the sound (hey)

[Chorus]

I’m a ghost on the underground

Drift past crowds

Don’t make a sound

You don’t see me when I pass by

Only feel that shiver on your spine

Only feel that shiver on your spine

Cold air creeps when I come round

Rattling teeth

That hollowed-out sound

I’m a ghost on the underground

I’m a ghost on the underground

[Bridge]

Mind off the rails

Heart in the dark

Name on a notice

“Incident at the park”

They still leave flowers

On the wrong side of town

While I ride this circle

Never touching the ground (mm)

[Chorus]

I’m a ghost on the underground

Drift past crowds

Don’t make a sound

You don’t see me when I pass by

Only feel that shiver on your spine

Cold air creeps when I come round

Rattling teeth

That hollowed-out sound

I’m a ghost on the underground

I’m a ghost on the underground (fade)
