Tundra Hush

I walk where the white ones breathe my name

Under a sky that forgets my face

The snow keeps secrets and it seems

And I drift through the quiet between

A thin moon hangs on a thread

Each step I take feels half the cost

The dark is kind, the night is slow

You let my trembling shadow go

Stay, little light

In the hollow air

I am a whisper already there

If I dissolve

Let the silence know

I was a song in the falling snow

Far off a piano rings like glass

Then fades before the cold can pass

I hear my heart in the willow trees

Soft as a prayer on the edge of the breeze

Stay little light in the halls

I am a whisper already there

If I dissolve, let the silence know

I was a song in the falling snow
