Marigolds Under Moonlight

Madigal bears on the midnight stone

Golden petals lighting the way back home

I hear your laughter in the hushed wind rise

Like a small bright flame behind my eyes

For the marigold calf through the dark

I'll leave the candles burning in my heart

If memory is a garden, let it bloom tonight

'Til the lost ones come back in the tender light

The marimbas beat

In a soft refrain

Carrying your name

Through the fragrant rain

Every shadow opens like a photograph

And the old love answers when I call you back

Follow the marigold path through the dark

I′ll leave the candles burning in my heart

If memory leaves a garden, let it bloom tonight

'Til the lost ones come back in the tender light

Cross the veil where the quiet flowers sway

I can almost feel your hand on the edge of day

No goodbye can sever what the soul has known

You are in the music, you are not alone

Follow the marigold path through the dark

I'll leave the candles burning in my heart

If memory is a garden, let it bloom tonight

'Til the lost ones come back in the tender light

Marigold path

Take us home
