Midnight on Pumpkin Row

We step through the night with our paperback crowns

Past the porches all glowing and carved-up towns

The moon's on a string and the fences lean low

We follow the candy where the cold winds blow

Knock, knock, who's there? We've come for the treat

With a skip in our shoes and a tap-tap beat

One for the ghost and one for the cat

We laugh in the dark where the jack-o'-lantern sat

Trick-or-treating on the glowing block

Pumpkin faces scream at every stop

Laughter in the dark, sweet and sly

We sing to the shadows as we wander by

Trick-or-trating on the glowing block

Every porch light rings like a ticking clock

Candy in our cans, stars in our eyes

A little midnight trouble in disguise

The front yard skeleton shakes at a beat

While the porch swing creaks like a secret meet

A witch with a wink and a silver spoon

Hands us a handful of sugar and moon

Goodbye, goodbye, don't be shy

Follow the glow as the hours fly

Goodbye, goodbye, take the fright

We're dancing with the pumpkins tonight

Trick or treating down the glowing block

Pumping faces grin at every stop

Laughter in the dark, sweet and sly

We sing to the shadows as we wander by

Trick or treating down the glowing clock

Every porch light rings like a ticking clock

Candy in our hands, stars in our eyes

We're little midnight trouble in disguise
