Witching Hour Inferno

The clock strikes twelve and the candles lean

A velvet shadow slides between

Your painted grin and my glass of gin

I whisper low, let the wild begin

One little word and the room goes blind

Stolen spark in the dead of night

I draw the circle, you feel the heat

Now every heartbeat learns the beat

It's a midnight spell and it's pulling us under

Laughing like lightning, rolling like thunder

It's in that charm that the dark things swell

We're all under the midnight spell

It's midnight spell and the floor won't settle

Pupil fever and a brass band battle

Kiss the chaos, ring that bell

We're all under the midnight smell

Hearts in top hats, heels in flight

Street little monsters dressed for the night

Head a wink or clap and my chandelier sways

We're dancing through the smoke and the maze

Ocean's hot and the tempests lie

Ruby sparkle in every eye

An empty shot on the tip of my tongue

Now the whole room's spun and the song's begun

It's a midnight spell and it's pulling us under

Laughing like lightning, roaring like thunder

Spinach arm, let the dark things sway

We're all under the midnight spell

It's a midnight spell and the floor won't settle

Heel click fever and a brass band battle

Kiss the chaos, ring that bell

We're all under the midnight smell

Break the seal, let the old moon grin

Let the swing and the sorcery spin

If you dare come closer now

I'll teach the shadows how to bow

It's a midnight spell and it's pulling us under

Laughing like lightning, rolling like thunder

Spin that charm, let the dark things swell

We're all under the midnight spell

It's a midnight spell and the room's a carnival

Sweet on the danger, loud and hallucinational

Fierce with the fright, dance where you fell

We're all under the midnight spell
