Moonlit Pumpkin Waltz

I walk alone where the lanterns lean

Through pumpkin rows in a silver sheen

The night comes slow with a velvet breath

And every path feels stitched with death

Shadows sway at the edge of sight

Like borrowed faces in pale moonlight

I hold my glow but it grows thin

The dark begins to listen in
