Smile in the Breeze

Morning light on the pavement, skipping in my shoes

Coffee in my left hand, nothing heavy to lose

Your name on my tongue like a candy I can't hide

I laugh a little louder when you walk by

I'm half a step ahead of the worry in my head

Turning little moments into something bright instead

Oh, I'm smiling in the breeze

Beat off the ground, heart on the beat

Whistle in the air, take it there with me

Everything feels easy when you look at me

Oh, I'm smiling in the breeze

Corner stir sunshine, coins in colored light

I chase the afternoon like it's running through the night

Your words line soft and they bounce back to me

Like a note on the wind that I can finally keep

I'm not chasing perfect, I'm just following the sound

Little sparks and hiccups when the world spins round

Oh, I'm smiling in the breeze

Feet off the ground, heart on the beat

There's something there to get there with me

Everything feels easy when you look at me

Oh, I'm smiling in the breeze

If the clouds roll in, I'll make a tune out of it

Spin the grey to gold and take a tiny lift

One quick breath, one right step, one more little chance

I was made for the sweet skipping kind of dance

Oh, I'm smiling in the breeze

Feet on the ground, heart on the beat

You're so in the air

Take it there with me

Everything feels easy when you look at me

Oh, I'm smiling in the breeze
