Steady Heart, Warm Light

The morning finds me grateful

And the quiet after rain

Your love is like a window

Letting sunlight in again

I learned to slow my rushing

Let the small things speak

And every little kindness

Feels like a prayer to me

And I'm steady in your warmth, I'm easy into life

Holding on to what is good and breathing through the night

You keep my heart from wandering

You keep my soul in tune

In this tender grateful moment

I am home with you

There were days I built my armor

Out of worry and of pride

But your gentle hand kept calling me back to the other side

Now the coffee, the road, the silence

Even trouble on the way

All feel sostened in the presence

Of the love you give each day

And I'm steady in your warmth, I'm easy in your light

Holding on to what is good and breathing through the night

You keep my heart from wandering

You keep my soul in tune

In this tender, grateful moment

I'd am home with you

If the world grows cold around us

I will still remember this

How your name can turn a hard day

Into something like a kiss

So I'll sing with all this feeling

Simple, honest, true

Grateful for the life I'm living

And the love I found in you

And I'm steady in your warmth, I'm easy in your light

Holding on to what is good and breathing through the night

You keep my heart from wandering

You keep my soul in tune

In this tender grateful moment

I am holding you
