Island Fever

[Intro]

Woke up with the salt on my skin

Sunrise dripping gold on the wind

Slow waves writing names in the sand

Something ‘bout this place got my hands in the air (hey!)

[Verse 1]

Bare feet on the old boardwalk

You laugh

And the gulls all talk

Passport in a back pocket

But I don’t wanna walk off it

Little bar with your name on the tab

You’re dancing on a chair

Making locals clap

You lean in

Hair tasting like rum

Say

“Boy

Don’t leave when the day is done”

[Chorus]

I got island fever

You’re my sweet believer

Every time you move that way

I don’t wanna fly away

I got island fever

Pull me in

Don’t free me

If loving you’s a holiday

Sky turns cotton candy slow

You trace “stay” in the sand with your toe

Tourists fade

But the moon clocks in

You’re sneaking me a kiss in the wind

You say

“Storms hit

But we don’t break”

I say

“Book me up

I’ll extend my stay”

[Chorus]

I got island fever

You’re my sweet believer

Every time you move that way

I don’t wanna fly away

I got island fever

Pull me in

Don’t free me

If loving you’s a holiday

Guess I’m never going home again

[Bridge]

Tell the plane keep rolling down the runway

I ain’t on it

I ain’t on it

Tell my friends I’m lost but in a good way

Yeah

I want it

Yeah

I want it

[Chorus]

I got island fever

You’re my sweet believer

Every time you move that way

I don’t wanna fly away

I got island fever

Pull me in

Don’t free me

If loving you’s a holiday

Guess I’m never going home again (hey!)

Guess I’m never going home again
