Witch Hat Wonder

In a crooked little cottage at the edge of Panama

I found a velvet hat box humming softly in my room

A hat with silver stitching and a ribbon like a stream

It winked at me so quietly like something from a dream

I lifted it with trembling hands, my heart a fluttering bird

But then was cool as winter when it whispered without a word

The candle was all in closer and the dust began to dance
