Marigold Lanterns in the Midnight Plaza

Candles bloom on the altar

Golden in the night

Marigold paths are glowing

Leading spirits into light

I hear the old names whisper

Through the smoke and the flame

And every heart is open

When we softly speak their names

Dance beside us

Dance beside the living

Step through the memory

Sweet and forgiving

Under the moon where the two worlds meet

We lift our tears and we lift our feet

Dance beside us

Beloved and near

In every candle you are here

The guitar hums like a prayer

On the edge of dawn

Trumpets rise like a memory

That was never gone

Bass marimba shakes the shadows

And drums call the way

And the colors of the altar

Keep the darkness at bay

Dance beside us

Dance beside the lily

Step through memory

Sweet and forgiving

Under the moon where the two worlds meet

We list our tears and we lift our feet

Dance beside us

Beloved and near

In every candle you are here

I leave a cup of laughter

I leave a seed of light

For the ones who taught my name

To bloom against the night

If love is a bridge

Then tonight it holds

From the sleeping earth

To the souls we hold

Dance beside us

Dance beside the living

Hearts remember

What time keeps giving

Under the moon where the two worlds meet

We lift our tears and we lift our feet

Dance beside us, beloved and near

In every candle, you are here

I come home in the music, come home in the air

Marigold and memory meet us there
